Is This Tournament a Good Fit?
This free tournament welcomes players of all levels, from kindergarteners through advanced competitors, with separate sections designed for different skill groups and grade levels. The 5-round Swiss format runs at a brisk pace, with younger sections and intermediate players using 20-minute games and advanced players getting 30 minutes per side, making it an ideal fit for a single-day event. It's a great opportunity to join the Chicago chess community without any financial barrier to entry.
