Is This Tournament a Good Fit?
Perfect for competitive junior players in grades K–12 looking to represent their school or district at a statewide championship, this event offers separate sections for each grade level over a flexible 3-day or 2-day weekend schedule. With classical time controls (G/60 with a 5-second delay on the main schedule, or G/30 for the 2-day option's first round), you'll have time to think through your moves while keeping the tournament moving at a reasonable pace. Entry fees are affordable at $59–$79, making it an accessible way to compete against strong players from across Texas.
