Spring Branch Scholastic Chess

Spring Branch Scholastic Chess runs after-school chess clubs across Spring Branch ISD in Houston, Texas, working with students in grade 3 and up to build critical thinking and strategy skills alongside a lasting interest in the game. The program is campus-based, with clubs meeting at elementary schools throughout the district. Alongside the weekly clubs, Spring Branch Scholastic Chess hosts scholastic tournaments at SBISD campuses, giving local students a familiar, low-pressure setting for their first competitive games without travelling outside the Spring Branch area.
